Bugzilla – Bug 15224
Some songs from iTunes (Korean and Chinese characters) do not appear in SqueezeCenter
Last modified: 2011-11-06 23:22:38 UTC
This problem has persisted when I used the 7.4.1 with Win XP SP3 and also when I upgraded to Windows 7. I can see over 3000 songs in iTunes. The songs sync correctly with my iPods and the songs play properly in iTunes. However, when I try to browse my library in SqueezeCenter Web Control or on the Duet Controller, the songs just do not appear. In one particular album of 16 songs (all with Chinese/Korean characters), I can see only 6 songs, but 10 of them are missing. I am not referring to the missing double byte character fonts (ie song is there but diplayed as numerous blocks), but in this case, the whole song itself is missing.
Are the iTunes tracks DRM protected?
No these are not DRM. The album of 16 songs was ripped to ALAC in iTunes but only 6 of them appeared in Squeezecenter. All 16 are in iTunes
I have been checking with some of my friends who are also using iTunes with Squeezecenter and it looks like it's only been apparent since Squeezecenter 7.x The old version didn't seem to have this bug.
Steven do you have any suitable iTunes tracks to test with?
(In reply to comment #4) > Steven do you have any suitable iTunes tracks to test with? Not sure but I will take a look.
A "me too" on this one. I've just started ripping all my CDs into a new iTunes Library and noticed this. I've currently got 102 songs in iTunes but only 98 in Squeezebox Server. Intriguingly, the 4 missing (3 of 11 songs missing from one album plus a standalone song) were all purchased from the iTunes Store (but DO NOT have DRM). Let me know if you need me to test anything.
7.6 has seen a lot of improvement wrt to non-latin character handling etc. Could you please give it a try and let us know whether this is still an issue?
Unassigned bugs cannot have a priority.
