Bugzilla – Bug 1522
Digital Sound Filters Enhancement
Last modified: 2008-12-15 13:06:36 UTC
Provide a means to enhance audio playback, similar to FXSound's DFX (http://www.fxsound.com/dfx/). There should be third-party, open source (or similarly licensed) mechanisms that could somehow be plugged in to the slimserver process. This could happen on the server, prior to being sent to the Squeezebox2 hardware.
if these processors accept stdin and stdout, this should already be possible by editing the convert.conf file.
Forrest, is this an issue for you? As KDF says, this should already be possible. Please reopen if you need something else.
Forrest wrote: Well, I suggested we look into this as a possible third-party benefit. It's an issue for me, when I listen though the Slimdevice to any stereo... as I've become accustomed to my DFX filter (Windows). The Slimserver is running on a FreeBSD box at the moment. I'm open to any ideas you may have. I contacted FXSound and suggested the two of you talk ;) But they probably aren't sufficiently motivated, and I'm going to guess there must be some open-source (or other) solution that would fit this situation.
