Bugzilla – Bug 15209
Embedded branch: Music not found if UNC path defined
Last modified: 2011-05-23 09:31:30 UTC
7.5.0-embedded does not find music if a UNC path is specified in Basic Settings > Music Folder. Scanner will clear anything from the database and then end. for example: \\server\Music will not work but D:\shares\Music will work 7.5.0 r29492 on WHS
Michael notes this may become automagically fixed when the reworking of the embedded scanner is complete
IMHO not a 7.5 blocker - Windows won't be fully supported to run TinySC, right?
Yeah not a P1, Windows will need to work eventually but this branch won't be 7.5.0.
Moving P3 and lower bugs to next release target
Bump, this still isn't working in 7.6
I'm running the latest build of 7.6 on a windows xp home system. when setting the library folders, SC will show my NAS media drive just like previous versions. you can even browse down into the individual folders. but it till not recursively search the main music folder. I've also mapped the network folder to a drive letter, but that drive letter does not appear in the SC browse list for some reason. previous 7.5 versions of SC worked just fine in this regard. any update on this bug? thanks, mike

== Auto-comment from SVN commit #31728 to the slim repo by agrundman == == http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim?view=revision&revision=31728 == Fixed bug 15209, the first slash in a UNC path could get eaten by catdir causing a directory to not be scanned properly
Verified fixed in 7.6.0, 32398. All assigned drive letters to networked locations show, as well as fully searching the directory structure including shortcuts to other music located on separate drives.
