Bugzilla – Bug 15146
Settings->Advanced->USB & SD Storage->Devices screen takes awhile to appear if running TinySC
Last modified: 2010-04-08 17:26:36 UTC
When I do the above, it just goes "bleep" and doesn't show a screen with the info. It used to work, but not with this version. When I remotely log in, I get this when I check on the USB and SD storage: # blkid /dev/mmcblk0p1: LABEL="SNOW PHOTOS" UUID="B84D-3FB3" /dev/sda1: LABEL="TOSHIBA_EXT" UUID="0FE2-3943" This appears correct. Running firmware r8121
I know of no changes in that regard so please retest with latest version. If you still see the issue, please check the log file after the failure: tail -n 100 /var/log/messages or first start logging with tail -f /var/log/messages & and then try again. Then please post your findings. Thanks Felix
The screen eventually appeared, but it took a very long time to appear. I was running TinySC and playing flac tracks from the attached USB hard drive. Changing title and priority now that I understand it better.
Moving lower-priority bugs to next target

bug 15861 - if it's taking long enough, the watchdog will eventually trigger a reboot of the device. We should probably not allow accessing that menu while the scan is running...
I think we should discuss this for 7.5
Created attachment 6622 [details] Proposed patch This patch disables the size and free space info in the Devices screen.
Okay, let's try to fix this for 7.5.0
