Description Mikkel Herold 2009-11-18 03:13:32 UTC
When you synchronize playback between SqueezePlay and a physical Duet Receiver, the audio in SqueezePlay disappears when you skip to a new song (using media keys, keyboard shortcuts or UI commands).

Playback does seem to continue in SqueexePlay, though, because the display changes to the next song, and the clock starts counting, but there is no sound.

The only solution is to shut down SqueezePlay and restart it. Playback then resumes from the point (in the new song) where it was when SP was shut down.

Alan: your thoughts on this one?

None really. Someone would need to debug the audio chain under Windows to find out what is happening

General consensus is that this is a Development Tool. Sync is not one of the supported features with SqueezeBox Desktop software.

What exactly does it mean that it is a development "tool"? Is SqueezePlay not ultimately going to be released as a full-fledged application for PCs/Macs?

If synchronisation is not a supported feature of SP, then why not take it out? Would be a shame, though, because it seems to be working well, as long as you don't skip songs - so I think this bug needs to be addressed at some point.

There is no plan at this time to release SqueezePlay Desktop Player as a stand alone application.
