Description Christian 2009-11-17 14:59:17 UTC
I am currently running Squeezebox Server 7.4.1 using a Duet and a Boom.
When browsing thru genres on my controller I am experiencing this strange behavior:
I have a couple of movie soundtrack albums that are tagged with soundtrack in the genre field, with all of them being compilation albums.
I also have the 'group compilation albums together' option enabled in SBS. When genre browsing 'soundtrack' using the controller, I get an empty list. When selecting 'soundtrack' on the web interface or the Boom it shows various artists as it should.
Furthermore, when temporarily changing tags on one of the albums (removing the compilation tag) and genre browsing with the controller I receive a list that is okay. Therefore this bug only occurs when all of the albums for one particular genre are compilation albums.
Since the Boom as well as the web interface on SBS do not exhibit this behavior, perhaps there is a way to clear the database for the controller only. I have tried resetting the controller back to its factory settings, but it didn't help.
This behavior this similar as in Bug #9480 which has been marked as solved.
Unfortunately it isn't.

Seems to me the SBC UI and web UI use different database code, leading to bugs like this one. As I said web UI and Boom do not show this behavior; it's a SBC issue.

What's the status on this one?
Has anyone from the Squeezebox team even tried to reproduce this bug?
I can't believe I am the only one who's being bothered by this bug.
