Description elziko 2009-11-16 23:38:19 UTC
In SS v7.3.x I was able to get a lot of extra networking information on the Controller by going through the process of selecting a different wireless network but by selecting the one I am already connected to. This gave the following information:

State: [Connected or Disconnected]
SSID: [name of your wireless network]
BSSID: [MAC Address of the wireless access point you are connected to]
Encryption: [WPA-PSK, WEP etc]
IP Address: [IP of the Controller]
SNR: [dB]
Tx rate: [Controller transmit rate Mb/s]

In SS v7.4.x this is no longer available and I particularly need to know my BSSID.

As James Richardson mentions in this forum thread:

http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71348

...this information needs to be added back into the diagnostics section on the Controller.

Just for completness I do note that some of the information I stated is already in diagnostics - BSSID is certainly not.

I agree - this is essential information for diagnosing roaming/WDS issues.

Rather than string you along indefinitely, I'm marking this one wontfix because it's never going to get management priority. Sorry...
