Description Joerg Schwieder 2009-11-10 00:40:50 UTC
My log files stay empty with r29204
This is Ubuntu server 8.04 LTS

This is weird.
Now it started logging again. Around 24h after I updated the server.

Actually looking at the times in the log and the timestamps of my downloaded server image I am pretty sure it started to log EXACTLY 24h after installation.

I did not do _anything_ with the server around the time, it was playing music (at the time) and also continued to do so so it's probably not something like an automatic server restart (server restarts take too long on my server to continue playback through them).

I can tell when it did start logging since I have "players.source" debugging enabled which loggs a lot during playback.
Playback was already running for 1 1/2 h when loggin re-started.

Well, you see what I reported, right: For 24h after installation I did not get any log file entries (0 byte files).
Those 24h are over so I'm obviously no longer seeing this.
But I can report back after I install the next nightly.

I just suspect it has something to do with the fact that the installation of that particular nightly did change some ownerships in my file system so it could be that others who upgrade beyond whatever the responsible change was could see the same.

Not that logging would be high priority...
