Bugzilla – Bug 14982
Bring back zeroconf in 7.4
Last modified: 2009-10-28 17:31:54 UTC
Every Mac user has by default a "Bonjour" Bookmark on Safari. I am probably not the only one using avahi on linux. I expected to see the Linux port integrate with avahi and dynamically register the service, one of these days. Instead of this, you decide to remove zeroconf altogether in 7.4. It's not because it is not made in Redmond that it is bad, you now.
No, it was removed because it's a stupid feature. We had a standalone binary and tons of support code just to add a bookmark to Safari?! Give me a break, we're better off not having to support it.
