Description JimB 2009-10-28 04:21:14 UTC
All play lists I've created in NAPSTER have missing tracks when played on the SB NAPSTER>MY NAPSTER LIB>MY PLAYLIST.

Usually about 10-20% of the tracks go missing. The tracks are available in MY LIBRARY but simply missing off the Playlist and can not be added. Tried removing them and adding again but does not work.

To recreate try adding the NAPSTER Acoustic playlist...

NAPSTER PLAYLIST>PLAYLIST BY CATEGORY>DINNER PARTY>ACCOUSTIC

The view the playlist via SB or SB server web interface and note 3 or 4 songs missing (TING TINGs, ROLLING STONES, DANIEL BEDDINGFIELD)

Alternatively set up your own play list and add BE THE ONE (NAPSTER SESSION) by the TING TINGs plus some other tracks... BE THE ONE is not on playlist when played via SB.

Above just example it's impacting a large number of tracks (10-20% i'd say)

Please include a log with plugin.napster set to DEBUG

I am also not able to replicate this issue, nor find the playlist you are referencing.

Oops forgot to comment!

Maybe a playlist on the UK portal for NAPSTER only. Currently trying to figure out how to turn debugging in for napster.plugin on ...

in the mean time I set up test play list in Napster and played it via SB server see attached screen shots...
tracks 1 and 7 missing on SBS!

Are all the tracks actually playable? Some tracks aren't playable (due to record company rights issues) but we have to show them in the list anyway.

Yes the tracks that are missing from the playlist display in SBS can be found in the NAPSTER>My Library>Tracks/Artists on SBS and can be played from there on the SB. The issue is that the playlist as displayed in SBS has missing tracks from the one generated in NAPSTER direct.

It also show this in the track counter... eg playing 1 of 22 is diplayed in SBS when you stream the NASPTER play list... but there are say 26 tracks on the original NAPSTER playlist.

Launch SqueezeBox Server, go to Settings > Advanced > Logging

Then set Napster = Debug (error is default)

The log location is listed at the top of the Logging page

OK starting to feel a little dim here. Only thing I can see for logging (and 1st place i looked) is on the Squeezebox server control panel (is this what you mean) ADVANCED TAB : Gives options in the LOG FILES section for INTERNET RADIO, MUSIC SCANNER, TRANSCODER , SERVER .. can't see any options for NAPSTER

From the control panel, click on the Advanced TAB. on the advanced tab, click on Advanced Settings button.

That will launch SqueezeBox Server web interface. From that interface, click on the Advanced Tab. From there, look for the Drop Down Box (default label 'formatting') click on that box and select Logging.

Then, scroll down till you find (plugin.napster) - Napster. Change the box on the left from "error" to "debug". Now scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, and click the Apply button.

At the top of this page, you should see SqueezeBox Server Log and a file location. You will want to go to that location to find the server log we will need attached to this bug report.

Once you have set the above to DEBUG, recreate the error, go to the log location, find server.log, then attach it to this bug report.

JimB: have you been able to capture a log yet?

Hi... sorry been away for a week! OK I raised it with Napster as well just checked my mail and they responded earlier in the week saying they knew of the issue and were working to fix it ASAP.

I've just tried it now and all new and old playlist are working ok... so looks like an issue on their side of the API which has now been resolved.

Thanks for the support!
