Description Jonathan Tuliani 2009-10-22 15:08:09 UTC
I've had some stability problems with SqueezeCenter (these were with v7.3).

To solve those, I simply changed the recovery options for the SqueezeCenter Service to restart upon failure. The default setting after installation is that the service is set NOT to restart.

These default settings persist in v7.4.0. I suggest they should be changed so that the service re-starts in the event of failure. That would create a more robust experience in the event of a service failure.

I'd clearly vote against this. Silently restarting when the server is failing can lead to oddities like we saw on ReadyNAS where the CPU would be constantly pegged due to the repeated reload. If the server is crashing, then it needs to be fixed.

This could cause more user errors then benefit. We will not support this request.
