Description Greger 2009-10-16 10:37:30 UTC
Regardless of language chosen in the controller, Swedish being the obvious choice, songs or artists with Swedish characters ÅÄÖ do not sort correctly.
Å and Ä are treated as A, whilst Ö is treated as an O. They should all come after Z, in theis order : ÅÄÖ

Please test if sorting is correct in the web UI

Also, try changing the language to English then back to Swedish (in web UI)

Does this change the behavior in any way?
Comment 2 Greger 2009-10-17 03:10:50 UTC
Yes sorting is done correctly in the web UI, except in fact in the top line (the clickable alphabet) where Ä comes before Å for some reason. Ö is not there even but neither is X so I guess I don't have any artist starting with those letters...

Changing back and forth in web UI, and controller, and restarting controller has no effect. Sorting is still done incorrectly in controller. Do I need to rescan library perhaps...??
Comment 3 Greger 2009-10-17 03:13:56 UTC
BTW, if I have the web UI on English, it sorts in the exact same way as the controller...

I would suggest to have both the web UI and the controller to sort correctly irrespective of language. If I remember correctly ÅÄÖ are listed in the ASCII table after Z so it sounds like more of an effort to make Å and Ä to be interpreted as an A than just putting them at the end of the list...

7.4.x milestone is in the past
Comment 5 Alan Young 2010-12-10 02:32:38 UTC
The sort order for library browsing is controlled by the language of the server, not that of the UI. Changing this to be a server bug.

When server PC was set to Swedish REgion/Language, the character sorted correctly (they appeared at the end) THis was also true for Norwegian. So its not just the player or the web-UI but the locale of the server machine. 7.6.0.32398
