Description Caleb Crome 2009-10-14 11:37:46 UTC
In order to preserve display life, we had originally implemented an auto-dimming feature that kicked in after 30 seconds. That does not seem to work in manual brightness mode like it used to.

It should so as to maximize product lifetime. It may be that we don't actually want it to always go dimmer -- probably above 90% brightness, we'd like to auto-dim down to 90%, but below 90% there's probably no need to dim further.

Caleb: What firmware version did you try? It works here OK with r7790 on a PVT (hw rev 3) unit. In manual mode it always dims regardless of the initial brightness. Could you please double check?

I have tested with a PVT and r7915, settings Manual Brightness, wait 30sec and I notice the display dimming.

Please reopen the bug if you are able to replicate with a PVT unit and the latest firmware.
