Description Ken 2009-10-11 20:30:19 UTC
Unlike the IP3K players, there is no page in Squeezebox Server for setting IR remote behavior with the SB Radio (or SB Touch). For the IP3K players the page is under Settings > Player > [player name] > Remote.
Comment 1 KDF 2009-12-13 20:25:58 UTC
There are no applicable remote settings for SB Touch, or Radio. This is why there is no page.

Yes, but the functionality would still be useful.
Being able to customize the IR mapping and select between normal and JVC remote codes would be useful also on the SqueezePlay based devices.

The IR remote settings can be changed by SSH'ing into the player and editing config files.

This could be done via the webUI settings instead; therefore there are applicable settings.

If you feel the settings are there, feel free to code up the page. I can, however, guarantee that there will be none. The point is that the page not being present is not a bug. It is an accurate result of the state of player setting availability. They are simply not exposed via an API that responds to the server prefs framework.

Suggesting SSH as proof of availability is like the old days of editing prefs files. I can state from first hand experience that there is a LOT more than that ability to make a prefs page possible and that was a case where the prefs files were a result of an internal prefs framework. As far as I am away, the current state of config files on Touch is not completely within the logitech part of the software yet.

Also see bug 11442, "preferences stored/synced to SqueezeCenter". That bug talks about SB Touch ("fab4") because I didn't know anything about SB Radio when I opened the ticket.

yep, dupe of bug 11442. I'll change its title to make it clearer.
