Bugzilla – Bug 14709
Embedded Album art is not shown
Last modified: 2010-12-12 10:52:31 UTC
After upgrading from SC 7.3.3 to 7.4 my Duet controller is no longer displaying album art that is embedded within the tag of the mp3 file. I have a compilation album where each track has its own embedded album art. When playing back the album, the cover art of the first track is being displayed for all tracks. The is no folder.jpg file present in the directory. With SC 7.3.3 embedded album art was displaying just fine.
Please attach a sample file to the bug for us to investigate with.
Unable to replicate this issue with any of the file formats I have tried with Embedded art. Please reopen the bug if you are able to provide a sample file that exhibits this behavior.
I have the Same Problem with SBS 7.5.1 and sb Touch and sb Radio.
Difficult to attach a file unless you want the mp3's. May I respectfully suggest you copy a few songs into a folder and edit the tags to call the album, say "Test Album". Scan the music folder then play the album on a touch or using a controller. With and 7.5.x only the first image from the embedded album art is shown, the following tracks show the image from the firt track. Surprisingly this is fixed in 7.6.0, the album art is displayed properly. I don't really expect this to be fixed now as it won't be too long before 7.6 will be released. As an addition, this also happens when Squeezecontroller on the android is used as the controller. Only the first embedded album art is shown for the whole album in SBS 7.5.x but works fine in 7.6. Ipeng on the other hand works correctly in all versions. Sorry it's a bit long winded but the situation is easily reproduceable and I was surprised initially that it worked for you. I can only assume that most people just play albums or a playlist from different albums and don't physically copy the music files into a seperate directory to create their own compliation albums. Cheers Gerald Bruce.
