Description JP Moins 2009-10-10 04:50:34 UTC
SBS 7.4.0 linux, problem reproduced on 1 debian/lenny and 1 ubuntu 8.10 system. Filesystem used: respectively NFS and local ext3.

My Miles Davis soundtracks for "Ascenseur pour l'échafaud" register as no title, no album, no artist. The cover is there.
There are accents in the tags and in the file name.
Scanner log in debug mode shows strictly no problem.
These MP3 files are quite old (encoder iTunes 1;1), but I guess I updated the ID3 tag format to v2.4 some time this year or last year, when I upgraded my DB to show the covers on SC and the Controller.
Under linux, EasyTag was unable to see the tags as well.
Problem didn't show with SC 7.3.? (I know I listened to the album with SC 7.3, but what minor version I do not remember.)

Downgrading the tag format to v2.3 with the current iTunes just solved the problem for SBS. (I dind't check back with EasyTag.)

This is the record (I bought mine years ago): http://www.amazon.com/Ascenseur-Pour-LEchafaud-Lift-Scaffold/dp/B000004785

Do you require that I attach one of the songs? There is a 55 seconds piece weighing 1.8 MB.

Michael: is this addressed in 7.4.1 changes?
Comment 3 Michael Herger 2009-10-12 22:51:47 UTC
Andy - might this be fixed by recent scanner changes?
Comment 4 Andy Grundman 2009-10-13 05:02:23 UTC
No, this file is not scanned properly, probably because of some old iTunes bug. I'll see if it can be fixed.

Fixed bug 14705, patched libid3tag to return valid frames it has read up until the point it ran into an invalid frame
