Bugzilla – Bug 14698
User can't create an account if they try (and fail) to log in to an account
Last modified: 2009-10-22 11:23:26 UTC
Steps to reproduce: - do clean factory reset (or first-time setup) - on "Squeezebox account" screen, choose "I already have an account" - attempt to log in to a non-existent account - after login failure, choose "create an account" - re-submit the same email string (this might not matter) used in the login attempt - type in a password (string doesn't seem to matter) User will get an "email/password" invalid screen. The system behaves as if you're trying to log in rather than create an account. This is pretty nasty, since it occurs during setup and the only work-around is to reboot.
This is a serious bug that breaks the SN registration flow, may be an SP bug. Trying a workaround.
Matt did you have a chance to test the workaround of swapping the menu items?
Yes, tested this morning and appears to be fixed.
Great, so this is less critical, but there is still an SP bug here I think.
What was the workaround?
This bug has been marked as fixed in the 7.4.1 release version of SqueezeBox Server! Please see the Release Notes for all the details: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Release_Notes If you haven't already, please download and install the new version from http://www.logitechsqueezebox.com/support/download-squeezebox-server.html If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
