Description Sue Chastain 2009-10-08 17:51:05 UTC
I had the Radio playing on battery, synced with 2 Booms and a Receiver. Out of the blue, it rebooted, and when it came back up, all the players in the sync group stopped playing. The status displayed on Music Information Screen on the Booms was "STOPPED." After waiting several minutes I had to manually resume them.

Player Model: baby
Firmware: 7.4.0-r7790

Sue: new firmware for Radio & 7.4.1 has been posted. Could you please re-try this with 7.4.1 r7837. Do you still see the same behavior?
Comment 2 Sue Chastain 2009-10-09 12:29:31 UTC
I'm not sure how I would trigger a reboot, but I won't be able to update to 7.4.1 until next week (have weekend company arriving any minute).

Sue: any update, did you see any more reboots after moving to 7.4.1?
Comment 4 Sue Chastain 2009-10-16 14:16:20 UTC
I only got 7.4.1 installed today. I'll keep an eye out...

It is a feature of Radio that it will force a Stop after a reboot due to a
crash. To is to avoid a reboot loop in extreme cases.

Well, that's fine, but can it be dropped out of the sync group so your other players don't stop?
Comment 7 James Richardson 2009-10-18 09:21:40 UTC
That sounds like a nice feature, instead of stopping the entire group, just drop the player that errors out?

use that as a stop gap, as the correct solution would be to never have a player error :)

Not likely to happen. We could force a player that has reboot not to be reincluded in a sync-group upon reconnect (although that would require come complex changes), but that would then invite the bug report: "after my player reboots it is no longer synced". Doing something like this as a stop-gap seems like a wast of effort.
