Description stevesatch 2009-10-08 07:38:00 UTC
Squeezebox 2 and 3, duet remote. My settings are to shuffle songs. When I click on my music, chose an artist, chose an album, and chose a song, it shuffles and plays any song on the album. I understand why it would shuffle the songs if I clicked play on the album, but when I click on a song it should play that song. The old version did.

anoop to investigate

I was fully able to reproduce this issue.

Steps to reproduce:

1. With your Controller go to Choose Player and select your SB3.
2. Go to Settings --> turn Shuffle to SONG.
3. Go to My Library --> Albums --> Select an Album --> Press Play on a song within the Album.

The song you selected will not play. A random song within the album will play.

Andy would this be a bug for you?

7.4.x milestone is in the past

From the main menu, select Shuffle: Song
Go to My Music, Artists' and select an artist and an album
Start playback of a song from this album. It starts to play another random song, every time.
Same problem if you select to play from playlists.

Just the same problem as stevesatch!

(I'll try to stop replying on WONTFIX items... and reply on open duplicates instead :)

Playing starts with the former index of the song in the source playlist (i.e. album view). This playlist is randomized to fill the "Now Playing" list, making the index irrelevant. Using a song Id instead of an index would partially solve the issue. Partially only, because if the selected song is not moved at the top of the "Playing Now", some songs from the source playlist will not be played...

Right. This is a duplicate of bug 9864. One of them needs to remain open.

Alan: Could this be something onebrowser can fix?

Fixed bug 14662: Playing a specific track while track shuffle is enabled will play another track
Find the play_index in the shuffled list when doing a playlist jump as part of a load.

No, it is not a onebrowser issue but is easy to fix.

For some reason the fix only works with onebrowser

bug 14662: Playing a specific track while track shuffle is enabled will play another track
Reshuffle (again) after jumping to specific track to get playing song or album at start of list.

Now with track (or song) shuffle enabled, it plays the selected song then shuffles the remaining songs in the album or playlist
