Server.log

First Part of the logfile is from my Controller.
At 09-10-06 18:39:39.6130 you will see that the file could not opened.

Second Part is from Squeezeplay
At 09-10-06 18:39:54.5946 you will see thet the file is opened but the encoding
is total different.
first Part: /music/Pop/Thomas D/Kennzeichen D/06 - Die Stadt
Schläft.flac
second Part: /music/Pop/Thomas D/Kennzeichen D/06 - Die Stadt
Schläft.flac

I hope the logfile can help to fix the problem.

I am a little saddened by the statement that this will be fixed later and not in 7.4.1. Almost all the German songs have umlauts in their names and thus about 30-40% of my music is not audible.

Please give the latest 7.4.1 nightly a try. I don't understand what exactly doesn't work for you. But I applied a few changes which are related to handling of non-latin characters in folder/filenames.

You might want to give some more information what exactly you are doing, what SBS version, etc.

OK here are some facts,
Version: 7.4.0 - r28672 @ Mon Sep 28 17:52:40 PDT 2009
Hostname: music
IP-Adresse des Servers: 192.168.xxx.3
Server-HTTP-Portnummer: 9000
Betriebssystem: Linux - DE - utf8
Plattformarchitektur: i686-linux
Perl-Version: 5.8.8 - i686-linux-thread-multi
MySQL-Version: 5.0.21-standard
Anzahl erkannte Player: 1

Player-Modell: receiver
Firmware: 65
IP-Adresse des Players: 192.168.x.109
MAC-Adresse des Players: 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:20
Stärke des drahtlosen Signals: 78%

When I try to play music with the controller, it does not work if the target track contains umlauts.
However, this only occurs if the target Track is a flac file and must be transcoded. I've tested it with wma and mp3 and then the error occurs not.
With the sqeezeplay software, i must say sorry but now it also does not work. See attached Pictures.
However, if I use the controller does not work.

Next I will try 7.4.1 nightly.

You don't need to transcode flac. Receiver can play it just fine.

Which doesn't mean there's no bug in transcoding. But that's bug 10199.

Sorry for being OT. But there is no delete for me.
Comment 13 James Richardson 2009-10-13 09:36:26 UTC
Are you using the Controller as a Player? I.E. playing music ON the controller, not on the Receiver?
Comment 14 Icebird2000 2009-10-13 09:39:44 UTC
No, sorry if it reads so. I use the receiver for playback.
