Bugzilla – Bug 14546
Can't play Shoutcast streams from web remote
Last modified: 2010-04-08 17:26:33 UTC
Andy - any idea what's wrong here? I can browse genres, but no stations.

Guess that's now mine.
This is ridiculous. I bought two boxes and have demo'd and recommended this product to many people. Then, the website was "improved" months ago and I can't use the product the way I used to. What's taking so long? This is very irresponsible on Logitech's part. I purchased the product because of the Shoutcast station browsing feature and now that was taken away.

Am I doing something wrong? I click on remote, Shoutcast, Genres. Any genre shows "no items found in playlist" PLEASE advise.
John - the fix isn't out on the production systems yet. In order to test it you'd have to use test.mysb.com. Would be great if you could do so and confirm the solution. But it depends on a few conditions: What type of player are you using? What Squeezebox Server version (if any)? How comfortable are you working on the command line and editing configuration files?
I have a Sqeezebox V3 (the desktop model "squeezebox3") The firmware is version 120. The other unit is the boombox style and I don't have the firmware version available. (I wouldn't test the fix for this one right now anyway.) I am not using the squeezebox server at this time. I am very comfortable with command line stuff.
Ok, in order to use test.mysb.com do the following: - press & hold left to get to the player's firmware menu - navigate down to "Current Settings" - down to Squeezebox Server - press right - enter 74.201.85.104 as the server's address - back out and reconnect to this server (NOT mysqueezebox.com) You'll then have to log on to test.mysqueezebox.com, re-create your account (if it doesn't exist yet) and re-enable your settings. Please only do so if you really want to use Shoutcast etc. test.mysb.com is our testing platform where changes happen, and errors can occur. That said it'd be great to hear that Shoutcast is working for you again.
OK, that seems to work now. When will the fix be incorporated onto the regular site? Also, here's one for the wish list: The old list format was easier to navigate. This format only shows 2 stations at a time, which is not as convenient as it used to be. Thanks!

This bug has been marked fixed in a released version of Squeezebox Server or the accompanying firmware or mysqueezebox.com release. If you are still seeing this issue, please let us know!
