Description Julius Friede 2005-04-26 19:21:06 UTC
from softsqueeze v1.7.1 through v2.0b6 fails to connect to any flavor of
Slimserver v6.0.x. I have tried a number of releases from the official 6.0
through the 4/26/05 nightly. This was true on OS X 10.3.8 and now with 10.3.9
and the latest security and java updates. I have 896 MB of RAM a 2 GHz cpu on a
G4/AGP Sawtooth machine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Julius: have you tried using the SoftSqueeze that can be web launched from within SlimServer web
interface?
Comment 2 Julius Friede 2005-04-28 21:33:16 UTC
No. Im not sure how to do that. I dont see any item that indicates it will
launch Softsqueeze.

there is a link in the help section for softsqueeze, which gives you the option
to launch as an applet or using webstart.

Running softsqueeze from the web interface works fine. Also, the second time I
ran it from the web interface, I answered yes to the question of creating an
app. This app also runs fine and connects with the server. Only the sourceforge
downloads do not connect. I have tried the mac install and platform independent
versions with equal non-success. Curious. Older versions (pre-slimserver v6.x)
always ran fine.
