Description Weldon Matt 2009-09-28 12:01:21 UTC
In touch, we need users to always have a "home" button available, instead of requiring the "press-and-hold-on-back" workaround.

The press-and-hold behavior isn't discoverable enough, and Bobbykin has asked for this to pass CXR.

Need to work with Noah to get a touch button design that "fits" back and home in a compact area while still being press-able.

Just a quick two cents here-- I think on Touch we really need to pay close attention to placing two buttons that do very different things right next to each other. In other words, we don't want the behavior of a missed touch to cause the user to say four letter words

Totally agree. Would like to test this out first.

Is there a gesture for going home? Having that would mitigate this bug, maybe?

Noah, do you have any ideas for this? We have a chance to make some additional (small) chances before the launch.

Yes, default R-to-L swipe is 'go home'

IMO this bug needs to go away. what we have is absolutely fine.

Personally at this stage, I would focus more on messaging (educating users) of the L/R swipe then retooling the UI.
Comment 6 Chris Owens 2009-12-21 10:31:01 UTC
Okay I will say the remaining action is for me to review the QSG and other docs to make sure gestures are well-documented.
Comment 7 Chris Owens 2010-02-11 15:42:53 UTC
Mickey, where are the gestures documented and who works on our documentation?
Comment 8 Ben Klaas 2010-02-11 16:54:26 UTC
I have a strong opinion this bug should be a WONTFIX

Moving lower-priority bugs to next target
