I need to add date handling to jived directly, because this request can't be passed along to slimservice as Jive is not connected as a player.  Symptom of this would be a failure of Jive to sync time from SN.

Is this the reason Jive actually does subscribe with a player? I wanted to change this, to simplify notification of host based time changes (needed on fab4, see bug 15048).

I've never even taken a look at jived - how hard would this be to be fixed for 7.5.0? Otherwise I'll have to find a SBS side work around.
