Controller will not connect to SBC without Music Library Named after upgrade from SC 7.3.3
Last modified: 2009-09-28 09:32:18 UTC
MAC OS 10.4.11 and 10.5.8 Update from SqueezeCenter 7.3.3 to Squeezebox Server 7.4 - pre-release from 9-25-09 Hello All, During MAC SqueezeCenter testing, after the SB Controller updates to fw 7760 from 6038, it will not connect to Squeezebox Server if the Music library does not have a name. Will not connect to computer-name (default if does not have a music library) Steps to recreate From a MAC -Start with SqueezeCenter 7.3.3 -Connect Squeezebox Duet to it (fw6038/62) -Update to 7.4 while Duet is connected (over the top update, NOT clean install) -Once updated Duet receiver updates, then Controller (click begin update) -Once the SB Controller is updated, it will not connect to Squeezebox Server -Open Squeezebox Server Control Panel, name your music library -Go to choose player, choose your receiver -Go to My Music, select the Music Library name u just named -It will then connect Tried this on MAC OS 10.4.11 and 10.5.8 and was reproduced twice in a row. Then switch to a different network, downgraded to SqueezeCenter 7.3.3 (clean install), downgraded SB Duet's fw to 6038/62, and tried it again.. same results. Thanks, LaRon
Hello All, Just retested with 7778, and it will connect without a Music Library Name. Tested from 6038/62 SC 7.3.3 to 7.4 (on all MAC OS's 10.4,10.5,10.6) Clean Install as well as over the top Installs Receiver worked seamleassly - Jive needed to be power cycled to get fw update - Controller had to be factory reset to connect. It was not getting IP/DNS information even after power cycle. Once Factory reset, connected fine. Advised James of this. Thanks, LaRon
