Description Anoop Mehta 2009-09-25 18:26:47 UTC
When upgrading from SC 7.3.3 to SBS 7.4, during the un-installation of 7.3.3 SC the installer asks if you want to delete your Preferences and Caches folder.

During an upgrade this should not happen.

It should never delete the preferences and caches files during an upgrade.

I do not see this behavior on Windows Vista.

Only on Windows XP

I have seen this on Vista x86 and x64

That's an issue which is fixed in 7.4. But as we are uninstalling 7.3 there is no way to fix it in there any more. We have to live with it this time around.

To be a bit clearer: that dialog is presented by the uninstaller, not the installer. During the update from 7.3 (or older) to 7.4 we're running the old uninstaller, which still shows that dialog. The 7.4 should no longer display it (just in case we decide to rename our products in 7.5 again ;-))
