Description Pat Ransil 2009-09-25 08:30:16 UTC
PB2 Baby, r7745. About 1 of 4 times I test, the volume mutes, then comes back very briefly, then goes away and stays muted.

It sounds like there is a very slight delay in the audio.

This is due to local mute occurring before the server tries to due its fade out process. Stop/pause have SP timeout behavior to avoid this situation is most cases, but the same code wasn't put in for the mute case. Even the correct pause/stop code relies on a magic timeout value, so the same volume stutter issue can still happen on a laggy network or slow SC.

Proposal is an SC change so that, for SP devices, do not use any fade in/out, but instead send the target volume directly.

Later, we can add local fading...

Fixed Bug: 14275
Description:
- disabling all fade in/out for now since SP didn't handle mute case properly, and disabling via SC seemed the safest colution with such little time left before release....
