Description ian_mazoff 2009-09-25 00:40:05 UTC
Just updated FW. Clock is 5 hours behind current (e.g. if it is actually 04h00, clock reads 23h00).
Comment 1 Richard Titmuss 2009-09-25 03:42:34 UTC
Ian,

Did you also update your SqueezeCenter? The new firmware includes changes to set the clock based on your current timezone. To do this correctly it also needs the latest server software too.

Richard, thanks for the info. I had downloaded it, but have yet to install. I'm @ the office now, but will report back in about 5 hours when I'm back home. Cheers!
Comment 3 James Richardson 2009-09-25 09:24:39 UTC
Ian: Please let us know if you can reproduce this after updating server and baby firmware.
Comment 4 ian_mazoff 2009-09-25 09:54:14 UTC
Now on FW 7745 and SC28637. Even reran FW on unit to be sure. Clock has gone from 5 hours ahead to 1 our BEHIND (current ZT is 12:53PM Eastern, Radio reads 11:53am)
Comment 5 ian_mazoff 2009-09-25 10:16:27 UTC
Also, I upgraded to 7745 on my controller AFTER upgrading SC and the clock on the controller is now 4 hours fast...
Comment 6 James Richardson 2009-09-25 10:24:07 UTC
controller has a known bug re: time stuff from bug 12253, fixed in r7753
radio firmware also needs upgrading for new time fix stuff, test r7752 (I'll push that out today)
SBS will need to be upgraded to r28644

After all that, it maybe a good idea to factory reset your radio as well, just to make sure it's getting all the proper time sync

Sounds great! Many thanks, James!

Now on FW 7757 and SC28647. Factory reset of Radio after FW upgrade and new SC install. Clock is 1 hour behind (i.e. current ZT= 12:59, radio reads 11:59)

Can you confirm and/or post to this bug the timezone and time on the SBS server itself, as well as the time and timezone setting on Radio (settings, advanced, timezone)?
Comment 11 ian_mazoff 2009-09-26 13:59:39 UTC
Was set for Guadalajara (GMT-6) instead of Eastern (GMT-5) on radio. Subsequent to adjustment, all seems o.k. I'll post again if anything changes, but all seems o.k. now.

No bug really, at least not a code bug, so closing this. Arguably we should move the timezone guess to happen once at setup time and then have the user confirm it or choose a new one during setup, so that this is more apparent to the user, but I don't think that's happening between now and 7.4.0.
Comment 13 James Richardson 2009-10-05 14:34:19 UTC

FYI:
Did a factory reset 2 days ago, time was off by 1 hour again (Guadalajara: GMT-6 instead of Eastern US:(GMT-5)). Call it what you will, but it will undoubtedly bother some users.
