Description Pat Ransil 2009-09-24 18:56:10 UTC
Was playing a Pandora station. Put on mute. Came back an hour later, wireless icon is blue, can't play music. Press Home > Now Playing, tries to connect, fails.
Diagnostics:
firmware = r7745
wireless network = SqueezeTest
Wireless signal=95% (it is bouncing between 100 and 95)
ip=169.254.68.34
ipsubnet=255.255.0.0
ip gateway = nil
dns server = 172.19.113.11
ping = cant ping
sb server = not connected (I never had connected it)

I had done a factory reset about 3 hrs earlier.

Advanced>networking>choose network (SqueezeTest) seemed to take longer than normal but did connect.

At about the same time my other baby also lost its connection. I did a hard power cycle and it came back connected. PB2 unit with older firmware, maybe r7561?
Comment 2 Pat Ransil 2009-09-24 19:01:02 UTC
One more thing - pb2 unit was on battery with a full charge about 2 hrs earlier.

Tom: does this sound like any of the other bugs you are tracking already?
Comment 4 Richard Titmuss 2009-09-25 06:31:47 UTC
Pat, it lost it's ip address (169.254.* is an auto-assigned ip).

You've also been reporting other problems that sound like networking issues. What router do you have? Does your router provide your DHCP?

Richard - This was in the office. There may have been connectivity problems with our network yesterday or maybe just congestion. But I would have thought that the unit would have been able to reconnect when I tried to play. Because it is easy to recover using "Choose Network" it is not a show stopper, but annoying.

I have not seen this in a while but have not really been trying to reproduce. I will try over the next couple days and if I don't see it I will mark as 'works for me.'
Comment 7 Pat Ransil 2009-11-06 13:18:19 UTC
I have not been able to reproduce now on 7.4.1. Will mark 'works for me.'
