Description Michael Herger 2009-09-22 20:31:58 UTC
If you want to set an alarm to go off just once eg. to take a nap in the afternoon, our alarm settings are too comprehensive. We should have a One-Time Alarm feature: set time. Done.

- will fire at the given time (always within 24h)
- will use now playing playlist or fallback if none defined
- will automatically turn on the alarm
- will not repeat

I'll be the first to comment on what will surely be followed by many as time comes. If you want it to be really fast and easy, you are going to need a button (and not just on one device) or at least something faster than scroll to settings, scroll to alarm clock, scroll to "fast alarm"

Or...the Anti-Sleep button :)

Weldon to review the alarm layout

Matt Weldon doesn't work for us any more.

Just voted for this feature.

Here's how it could be done.

While the Unit (Boom, Radio, Touch) is off, pressing the sleep-button on the remote will invoke the Nap-function, the display shows "Nap 15. min."

Repeated press on the sleep-button goes through 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, Nap Off

Leaving the "Nap x min." for a few seconds the display switches off and the Nap-alarm is set.

Unassigned bugs cannot have a priority.

An alternative way to implement the "Nap" function:

While the Unit (Boom, Radio, Touch) is on (playing), pressing the sleep-button on the remote will first toggle through the usual sleep options (15,30,45etc.), but then at the end of the list new options are added: -15, -30, -45, -60, -90

Selecting "-15" means it will resume playing after 15 minutes nap.

If streaming radio while going into nap, it could just mute while napping, if playing a playlist it could pause while going into nap and resume play afterwards. And if everything fails sound the fallback alarm.
