Bugzilla – Bug 14190
Kernel/redboot should detect dead battery and display dead battery splash screen instead of regular logitech logo
Last modified: 2019-01-25 10:38:51 UTC
We need to have a way for the kernel to display a dead battery splash screen. The situation is that if the user has a unit with a dead battery, when the press the power button, it will refuse to power up. Then if they press and hold the power button, it will boot with the regular splash screen. The press-and-hold-with-dead-battery state should display a different splash. I can set the I2C pins to force low when in this state, which could be easily read by Redboot and a different parameter passed to the kernel to go through a different boot sequence. Thoughts?
Sounds like a really good idea, do you think we can get it in for 7.4.1?
Not sure this one makes sense to put into 7.4.0, given how many people will have batteries. It may be kind of risky.
7.4.x milestone is in the past
