Bugzilla – Bug 14178
Using My Apps with a player assigned to another SN account gives a bad error message
Last modified: 2009-10-05 16:42:56 UTC
I just installed SC 7.4 and connected my SB 3 to it. My SB 3 had previously been associated to my Gmail SN account. In SC 7.4 I used my Slimdevices SN account. Through the player, I tried accessing My Apps on the player interface and got the following error: "Invalid player ID" I was able to use SC 7.4 to access my Pandora account in My Apps and stream to the same SB 3 without first moving it to the correct SN account. I then added the SB to my Slimdevices SN account and was able to use the player interface to access My Apps. Should the player have been automatically moved to the same SN account that was entered in SC 7.4?
The bug here is that the error message should be better. If a player already exists on SN and belongs to a different account, you can't use it with My Apps. The solution is to delete the player from the other account (in the case of a second-hand sold player or someone who just changed accounts) or contact support (in the case of a duplicate MAC). Those are the only 2 scenarios where this should occur in real life.

If it was purchased from someone, ask them to delete the player from their account and try again. If not, please contact support@slimdevices.com for assistance.'
