MeSue had this problem:

I got a new retail-boxed Radio today and I decided to let Russ do the
initial setup since he's never done it for any of the Squeezeboxes
before. I thought it was interesting that he used the play button rather
than the knob to push right in all the setup screens.

One odd thing that happened was that it started trying to connect to
the wireless network before he had finished entering the passcode. I
asked if he was sure he didna't accidentally hit any buttons and he said
no. Later on, after the firmware update, I was entering my email address
for mysqueezebox.com and it did the same thing--pushed right to the
confirmation screen after I had only typed 3 letters of the email
address.

In both cases, going back put us where we left off, so we didn't have
to re-enter text from the begining again. However, after going back and
entering the remainder of the network passcode, the Squeezebox failed to
connect to the network. We verified the password and tried again 3
times, and it still would not connect. Finally I backed up and just
erased the last letter of the password, re-entered it, and then it
connected right away.

Back in hubby's hands, he wanted to connect his new iPod to listen on
Radio's line in. Had some trouble with that. It wasn't making any sound,
but then we figured out that it was the iPod's hearing protection
feature of lowering the volume when you insert headphones. Once we
turned up the volume on the iPod, we got sound.

Then he navigated to My Music and got something playing from the local
server. He's already familiar with that from using the SBC, but he
complained that the play button didn't work to go right after the setup
was complete. His feeling was that if it worked in setup it should work
the same way in normal use.

BUT as the one who filed the bug "using play to go right is wrong" I'm
glad it didn't work that way in normal navigation. So should it be
working that way in setup?

That's all we've done so far. I'll be giving it a good workout this
weekend.

Read the second paragraph again. It doesn't sound like the PLAY button was being used during password entry. It sounds like the knob click was bouncing.

Tom: Please modify MP firmware to remove PLAY = RIGHT during settup

Sorry, perhaps I'm a bit confused. Sue's probablem may have been debouncing, not the right vs. knob press. I haven't seen any bounces lately. I wonder what happened originally. Read first comment carefully.

Tom is no longer available to us

The 'UI' component is being removed. This bug is being shifted to the appropriate new component.
