Description ed 2005-04-21 21:33:47 UTC
For a given track visible in the SlimServer player, there is no way to get any
information about that track. Properties yields a difficult-to-parse URL that
contains no information about the original location (path) of the track,
encoding, bitrate, or any other relevant information.

One example problem: I was having trouble with wma files & couldn't determine
from the interface whether a given file was wma or mp3.

Second example: I have a number of duplicate tracks in my library. Your
interface shows these quite clearly (e.g., when I browse by album). However, I
cannot find out the path of the duplicates to know where to go to delete the
dupes!

the UI is a browser interface. right clicking for a menu and choosing
properties gives you the properties of the link, not the song.

if you click on the song title in the now playing section, or use the browse
pane (ie, keep clicking items from browse album) to navigate down to the track,
a songinfo page will give you the details that you seek.

Since the actual properties of the track are available by clicking the link and
we have little or no control over the Properties context menu option, closing
this bug.
