Bugzilla – Bug 14044
"Do you want to switch to..." Dialog doesn't tell where to switch to in German Localization
Last modified: 2010-09-13 11:56:27 UTC
When you select a new source there's a dialog coming up "Do you want to switch to the source xy?" At least in the German translation the layout of the dialog is such that you don't see where you are switching to since the whole name is off-screen making the dialog kind of moot. The dialog is moot IMHO anyway since you either have no choice anyway (if your server is gone) or you DID already go through a server selection dialog before (if you go there from "switch to other source") but in this form it's also confusing. Maybe just dropping the whole thing would be the best choice. I believe this is the same on Touch but did only try on Baby.
I wanted to file a bug about the message being too long before. In German you always risk that the screensaver might kick in before you even get to see the new music source name... I'll shorten the German version (SWITCH_BUTTON in the ChooseMusicSource applet). But we should indeed review this menu (post 7.4), as I'd assume all languages to be too long for Controller's display.

This change will require text copy changes which need translations. Too late for 7.4.
Moving these bugs to P4 to make room for moving P1.5 bugs to P2
Administrative move of 7.5 bugs. All P2, P3, P4 being downgraded one level. Will then split P1s.
Moving lower-priority bugs to next target
Translations should be in already. And there's nothing to be expected from Matt any more :-(. Closing.
These bugs have all been marked resolved and belong to a component which is being removed. Therefore they have been moved to the most applicable of the new components.
This bug has now been fixed in a released version of the Squeezeplay firmware (SB Touch, SB Radio, and SB Controller). If you are still seeing this bug, please make certain you are running firmware 9009 or higher, and re-open it. Thanks!
