Bugzilla – Bug 13953
Favorites Web UI
Last modified: 2009-10-12 07:57:34 UTC
Created attachment 5815 [details] "removing favorite" not going away, and breadcrumb sample. Using default skin, from Trackinfo page 1) Link initially shows "Save" as text. This isn't very descriptive, and the heart icon is a good distance away so it's not immediately associated. 2) once clicking on the link, the "show briefly" feedback doesn't return to trackinfo. 3) breadcrumb shows >> both for saving to and removing from favorites.
Created attachment 5816 [details] "saving" stuck, and breadcrumb.
Created attachment 5817 [details] initial trackinfo
When the item is a favorite, the link shows "Remove from Favorites" which makes good sense and save string should be more like that.
The Heart icon is also showing up during mouseover for every line of the trackinfo. It seems odd, moreso when the line is a link for something else, like Amazon or the "Share on Facebook". If clicked, it doesn't even work or get updated unless it's the proper favorites line.
Andy - would this be the Preset feature from the trackinfo menu?
Not preset-related, this is just the somewhat-annoying 'feature' where you can favorite almost any URL.
for the save link, perhaps the PLUGIN_FAVORITES_SAVE token is a better choice for web UI, as is uses "Save to Favorites" for EN

I'm not sure this is the right way to do things, as eg. mixed services like Queen don't show up any more. Andy - could we be a bit smarter in XMLBrowse (or whatever)?
Oops... that was the wrong bug.

Andy - it's more than just a favorites issue. All menu items of type=link seem to expose this problem (eg. "On ..." menus). It's a generic XMLBrowser hell issue...
Not a P1.
