Bugzilla – Bug 13950
Network List does not refresh when AP is powered off
Last modified: 2011-05-09 15:21:09 UTC
I have noticed that on the Baby if I power off an AP that the baby has 'seen' or connected to, that the AP will stay in the list for up-to 30 minutes. This does not happen on Jive or Fab. Other beta testers have seen this as well
Fab4 takes about 20 seconds to remove a turned off AP whereas Baby takes about 5 minutes max so far in my tests. (I have not yet seen an AP stick in the list for 30 minutes.) Using 'wpa_cli scan_results' I can see that Atheros driver is keeping the entries so it's an issue in the driver rather than in the application code.
Put this on the bottom of your list for 7.4. Hope we get to it but may not.

7.4.x milestone is in the past
Update hours worked
Feedback from Kevin (Atheros). I have not yet tried it. Here is suggested solution: In ieee80211_node.h, the WLAN_NODE_INACT_TIMEOUT_MSEC can be change to 30000. This will shorten the timeout for scan list cache.

== Auto-comment from SVN commit #9057 to the jive repo by fmueller == == http://svn.slimdevices.com/jive?view=revision&revision=9057 == Bug: 13950 Description: Shorter scan list cache timeout to quicker remove APs from scan list that are no longer available.
Retested and applied patch in r9057.
Since these are fixed, they must not be patch_waiting after all
7.6.032376 - the unplugged AP was removed from the Radio list after about 3 to 5minutes. ON the touch the AP was still listed but without the signal icon
