Description Joerg Schwieder 2009-09-10 06:55:26 UTC
The CLI "connect" command doesn't move any players to SqueezeNetwork in 7.4
r28487

It works with SBS servers but not with SN.

<playerid>  connect <ip|www.mysqueezebox.com|www.test.mysqueezebox.com>

The "connect" command tells a Squeezebox 2 or newer player to connect to a different server address or to mysqueezebox.com.
Supported values are:

    * ip - A dotted IP address to connect to.
    * www.squeezenetwork.com - Connect to SqueezeNetwork.
    * www.test.squeezenetwork.com - Connect to SqueezeNetwork test.

If the player is currently a member of a sync-group, then all players in the sync-group will be instructed to switch to the new server and reestablish the sync-group.

Did this ever work for you (if so, when?) or is this an enhancement request?
Comment 2 Joerg Schwieder 2009-09-10 07:36:12 UTC
It worked with earlier releases of 7.4 and it still works perfectly well with 7.3.
It's also well documented so it definitely a bug, not an enhancement.
Comment 3 Michael Herger 2009-09-10 07:52:01 UTC
Jörg - are you sending "connect mysqueezebox.com"? I think it's still hardcoded squeezenetwork.com only.
Comment 4 Joerg Schwieder 2009-09-10 08:10:55 UTC
I'm sending test.squeezenetwork.com

And you are right, changing this to "www.test.squeezenetwork.com" fixes it.
Should have read the spec more closely, my bad.

Maybe the command should be a bit more tolerant here :-)

Fixed Bug: 13938
Description: enable switching to mysqueezebox.com throught the CLI - it was only checking for squeezenetwork.com domain name
Comment 6 Joerg Schwieder 2009-09-10 08:22:35 UTC
actually it was checking for the whole
"www.squeezenetwork.com" and "www.test.squeezenetwork.com" name including the "www" which should probably be removed
