Specify "use itunes" checkbox. Then browse and point to iTunes directory. Rescan everything.

No playlists show up from the device and no playlist directory is created (at least not in the itunes directory where there was an old one I deleted).

Am able to access music by artist, album etc. but playlist is empty.
Comment 1 Michael Herger 2009-09-09 03:17:12 UTC
working fine here. Can you reproduce this? If so, could you please enable the scanner log set (Settings/Advanced/Logging) and upload the scanner.log file?

Ok, seeing a failure if plugin was loaded, but disabled. Importer isn't correctly initialized upon enabling the plugin.

Fixed Bug: 13906 +2
Description: need to initialize and enable importers when iTunes is enabled, but wasn't at startup. Failing that SC wouldn't even trigger a scan if no music folder was defined

This is what I get when I specify itunes and then let it scan. note that no playlist folder is created.

Matt - please give tomorrow's build another try. This should be fixed.

I did a clean install of SC over the weekend. Deleted and trashed all SBox files/folders, then reinstalled.

This time I didn't specify any path for music or playlist files and simply checked "use itunes". After what seemed like forever, the scanning process finished and a Playlist folder was created but ONLY had the infobrowser.opml file. None of the iTunes playlists were shown and on the device it simply said "empty".

I'm running 10.5 on a imac g5 and I'm pretty sure I upgraded iTunes to 9.0.

No seeing the same problem on my powermac. Wonder if it's in intel/powerPC issue.
Comment 7 Michael Herger 2009-09-14 08:47:42 UTC
Matt - if you do a rescan, would they eventually show up?

QA - could you please reproduce Matt's Mac? :-)

Don't know what else might be wrong here.
Comment 8 Matt Cuson 2009-09-14 09:21:48 UTC
No. Rescans don't do anything. I just posted a new bug about rescan failing on my powermac (the playlist problem is on my powerPC imac).

It would be hugely beneficial if we had an uninstaller that would wipe all traces of SC from the system. Much easier to eliminate errors from caches etc. hanging around.

Please attach scanner.log files to both these bugs.

The pref pane can do this without an uninstall/re-install.

"Here's my scanner and server log from last night when I did a rescan. I also manually changed my music library path from <user>/music to <user>/music/itunes and did a rescan. When complete I did a playlist rescan and that didn't do anything either. Playlist folder still shows only the info browser data and on the device playlist returns 'empty'."

Matt - according to your scanner.log there's no iTunes integration. It doesn't scan your iTunes file, but only the music folder. Could you please upload server.pref and itunes.prefs from the prefs/plugins/ subfolder too?

Note I'm having the same problem on both system (home and work) where my itunes music isn't being properly scanned and playlists aren't showing up.
