Description Fred 2009-09-05 14:18:48 UTC
Hi,

I have switched my setup from SC 7.3.3 on Windows Vista to SC 7.3.3 (Perl source) on a QNAP TS239 Pro NAS with SSOTS 3.18 installed. This QNAP is running Linux kernel 2.6.24. I have a recent Squeezebox Duet (v3). On Windows Vista, everything worked fine. I used port 9000. My music library is all in OGG Vorbis quality 6. On QNAP, everything seems to be working fine but I get no sound. I tried playing WMAs and MP3s also, and again no sound. I can browse my music library on my controller, when I play something, the led on the receiver is bright white, etc. The QNAP uses port 9001 for SC because it can be configured to use TwonkyMedia which uses port 9000. So the developers of SSODS (which runs SC perl source) make sure to use port 9001 to avoid conflicts with QNAPs which would run TwonkyMedia also.

Here is the log with player.source=info from starting SC on the QNAP, playing a file and stopping:

My QNAP is named MaisonNAS. 192.168.0.197 is my receiver and 192.168.0.196 is my PC connecting to the web interface of SC on port 9001 to play files.

I ran netstat a few times while the file was playing and Send-Q for the connection between MaisonNAS:9001 and 192.168.0.197:46004 was always 108545. I don't know if this is normal or not.

In the log, there is an error about not being able to read file mDNS.conf. I don't know either if this is important or not.

Well, can you see what is wrong? I would really like to use SC on my NAS so I would not have to run a PC all the time.

Thanks!

Fred
