Downgrade by SD needs *.bin file
Last modified: 2009-10-30 15:48:31 UTC
Controllersoftware is being offered on the web as a *.zip file. If the remote software doesn't find a *.bin file on a inserted SD-card it shows nothing at all, even the option upgrading or downgrading doesn't show up.
(In reply to comment #0) To be more precise: update/firmware/7.3 the file jive_7.3_r3993.bin. Using IE8 it pops up as a zipfile.
The Controller firmware files are downloaded to your cache directory, you can copy that file to your SD card and then update via SD card. Are you saying that inserting an SD card without the firmware binary prompts you to update to something?
The difficulty is that there is no instruction which tells me te rename the file to BIN. If you copy the downloaded file directly to the SD-card nothing happens (because it has the ZIP-extension in the name). If there is no BIN-file on the card, there is no option to select 'update software' at all. It would help that somewhere in the instruction is stated that you need to rename the file from zip to bin.
I have updated the wiki page to indicate that only .BIN files are read by the contrller
