no local alarm notification to AlarmSnooze applet when controlling remote player

I'm currently relying on notify_playerAlarmState() to spring the alarm window up when the local player's alarm goes off. If the local player is not currently being controlled, this notification does not come to the applet. Need to find a way (server level notification?) to trigger the switch to local player + alarm window when local alarm goes off.
