Description Dan Evans 2009-09-01 12:27:23 UTC
(testing r28379)

Because I ran into bug 13804 I tried manually deleting the pref file. After restarting the server I noticed on the player it was pointing to music I did not expect. The server had defaulted back to the default Mac music folder, which makes sense. However, in the Control Panel it still listed my old music path-- that is, the path that was set before I deleted the pref file.

Did you restart the control panel?
Comment 2 Michael Herger 2009-09-02 05:24:50 UTC
Not a P1: this about the same behaviour as if you pulled SC's server.prefs file while it was running. Both don't monitor the settings file. You should restart the application if you wipe stuff manually.

But we might indeed need to re-initialize the UI when the cleanup is run from the control panel.

I *think* I did. I'll double-check / retest today.
Comment 4 Michael Herger 2009-09-07 21:27:06 UTC
Might be related to bug 12833 - the folder values aren't correctly updated after a wipe action?

Dan?

Retested. If you do not close and re-open the Control Panel it displays incorrect, old information. If you close/reopen then the information is updated and corrected.

I'd suggest this kind of a dupe of 14419: prefs don't get updated in the
UI if the prefs file changes. I'll leave them separate bugs to track the
different platforms.

not a sky-is-falling problem

I'm sorry, applying new targeting guidelines
