Description Erland Isaksson 2009-09-01 09:29:36 UTC
I just tried to setup DSBridge on a Windows XP computer and connected my Baby towards it by connecting to http://hostname:8124. I'm running DSBridge in a virtualbox virtual machine separated from the machine I'm running SqueezeCenter on. More information about DSBridge can be found here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=64590

The result is that the Baby plays sound for about a second, then hangs for a few seconds before it reboots. The problem is also reproducible on the Fab4. I also tried to use Squeezeplay Desktop on Linux but couldn't get it to crash but on the other hand it doesn't even output any audio so that might explain why it behaves differently than real hardware.

I also tried to connect my standard Boom and Classic towards DSBridge and both works perfectly, so it's definitely some problem with the new Squeezeplay based devices.

I'm using firmware 7307 on the Baby and 7335 of Fab4.

The Baby doesn't show the same behavior on other Internet radio stations, so there has to be something special in the DSBridge stream that causes this.

I'm running Squeezebox Server on Ubuntu Linux if that matters.

I'm not really sure how to prioritize this one, but we definitely aren't going to be spending time on this for 7.4. Punting to 8.0 for now

Audio crashers need to be fixed.

Fixed bug #13800
An incorrect assert was causing crashers when used with DSBridge, and possibly other streams.
