Description Michael Herger 2009-08-31 05:24:25 UTC
The initial setup wizard does disable iTunes and/or MusicIP plugins if these can't be found. Therefore the user will get a message that SC needs to be restarted in order to update plugins (or similar).

This mostly happens to Linux users, as OSX/Win32 won't guide you through the web based wizard any more. I see two possibilites to fix this issue:

- don't disable the plugins
- restart SC right after the wizard (if needed)

I'd prefer the first option, as both these plugins are rather memory hungry, and most Linux users won't be using them anyway. Thoughts?

I assume you mean don't enable the plugins on linux.

It would be easy to extend the install.xml parsing to allow the defaultState entry to contain os specifics. This would mean we could default enabled on windows/osx and disabled on other platforms.

Sounds good to me!
