When a player is turned on or off, there's no visual indicator to confirm that this action has been taken. I would assume that the power on/off indicator would appear brighter if on, and dim if off but that's not what I saw.

Appears to turn my player on and off, though.

The web remote control is still lacking all/most correct artwork: buttons, volume bar etc. That's why bug 13207 isn't closed yet.
