Description Anoop Mehta 2009-08-24 16:03:46 UTC
I have a customer who has a Sony Erickson cell phone.

To have this phone sync up with his PC via Bluetooth he has installed a program called SE PC Suite.

Customer connects his phone to his PC..SqueezeCenter is working fine.

Customer disconnects his phone and closes SE PC Suite SqueezeCenter loses connection with all players.

Keep in mind that SE PC Suite is still running in the system tray.

This problem only happens after the phone is disconnected from the PC.

Told customer about a current workaround of exiting SE PC Suite before using SqueezeCenter, but he would also like me to create this bug.

SqueezeCenter 7.3.3

What version of the Sony Software does he have installed?

Is this on a Desktop or Laptop system?

What version of XP is being run?

When his Phone is installed, does it show up as a MODEM device?

What type of network connection is the PC using to connect to his network?

What is the RightNow Ticket Number?

i) It is the most current version of SE PC Suite v5.009.00.

ii) HP DV6838TX Notebook

iii) Vista Home Premium SP2 32 bit

iv) Phone can be used as a modem via either the PC Suite or using a dialup networking connection to establish a connection. However, when this is used the fault does not actually occur. It only occurs while the phone is not connected and the application is active in the system tray - see below paragraph for full description.

v)ADSL (via a wifi modem / router)

Just to clarify as the fault description is not entirely clear.

The fault occurs only when SE PC suite is closed with the phone disconnected but the application stays active in the system tray beside the Squeezecentre icon. It appears as a phone with a red cross through it indicating no phone connected. In this state, when using SC to play an album, only about 30 to 40 seconds of the track is heard before the message "......reset by remote host" appear in the Squeezecentre notification message area. Squeezecentre then moves to the next track in the listing and the problem occurs repeatedly in this cycle.

As soon as the Sony PC Suite Icon is completley closed so it does not appear in the System tray the problem disappears.

Andrew,

Are you still seeing this issue with SqueezeboxServer 7.4?

Andrew,

Would you mind setting up some logging for us to check out?

Here is how to setup the logging:

1. Open SqueezeboxServer and go to Settings --> Advanced --> Logging
2. Under the Logging pull down menu please select Server.
3. Click Apply on the bottom right hand corner.
4. Also set (network.asyncdns) - Asynchronous DNS Loggin and (network.cometd) - Cometd protocol logging to DEBUG.
4. Click the box towards the top that says Save Log Settings.
5. Click Apply and Close.
6. Stop Squeezebox Server
7. Delete your current log located at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Squeezebox\Logs\server.log
8. Setup your reproduction
9. Start SqueezeboxServer and reproduce the issue you are having.
10. Once you reproduce the issue, stop SqueezeboxServer.
10.Locate the logfile and attatch it to this bug.

Thanks again for your help.
