Bugzilla – Bug 13624
Scrolling does not show background letter, only square block
Last modified: 2009-09-11 02:08:38 UTC
Scrolling a long list of items, Artists or Albums, I see a square block instead of the alpha letter. This happens on Baby and Jive, but not Fab4 To repro Attach to a local (nighly) SBS go to my music > artists > start scrolling and watch the background
This is a regression and therefore a P1
I don't see this with baby r7199 or Jive 7215, which is higher than the nightly. FYI, please provide the exact fw version and device where the problem was seen, since "nightly" is a moving target..
Controller r7172 Fab4 r7227 Baby r7210 SC 28228
data point- I'm using both controller and baby r7163 and do not see the issue. a change between then and 7172 causing the problem?
D/L and tried Jive 7.4 r7241 with SBC 7.4 r28228 Library has 4k Artists/Albums - scrolling that list I still see the box
Does your artists start with a Number or Letter? Mine starts with a Number (10000 maniacs)
When browsing a library that starts with an Alpha letter (a) I do not see this issue
We should also test for Non Alpha/Numeric first artist/album
Can't repro (10,000 maniacs first, etc). I see number symbols and letters appear as the background letter. Can you describe this or repro it on a different library. Is the square filled or just a border. Does it stay just a square the whole time? Does it stay a squeare if you stop in the middle and start again?
OK, I finally figured out what in my Library was causing it. Chinese Characters. When I had the attached in my library, the background image on SP devices would show up as a □
The sample is too big to attach - I can email it to you if you need it
Created attachment 5828 [details] Error Image Here is a Jive image of the error
I have placed a rar of the double-byte FLAC album here: https://wiki-corp.slimdevices.com/index.php/FTP_Drop_Box File = 1.rar
our font doesn't support chinese characters so I'm not really sure what we're supposed to do to fix here... Richard, assigning to you for comment. My hunch is this is either WONTFIX of target = future
