Description Jim McAtee 2009-08-22 20:44:56 UTC
If you set either Shuffle or Repeat to something other than 'off', then leave Now Playing and play something, when it pushes back into NP, the icons are changed back to their 'off' state. It appears that the correct Shuffle and Repeat states are maintained, just the icons get reset.

JJ: I am unable to reproduce this with r7227

Can you retest with that version? If you still see the issue, please provide reproduction instructions.
Comment 2 Jim McAtee 2009-08-24 12:06:12 UTC
Yes, I'm seeing this is r7227. To reproduce:

1. From My Music, find an album and play it.

2. Go to the Now Playing screen, press the Shuffle button and the player will now be in 'Shuffle tracks' mode. The icon should glow green to indicate this.

3. Go back out to My Music and find a different album. Look at the track list and note the order of the tracks. Now play this album.

4. Go to the Current Playlist. The tracks will be shuffled from their tracknumber order, indicating that 'Shuffle tracks' mode is still in effect (as it should be).

5. Go to the Now Playing screen. The icon on the Shuffle button will be grayed out, which incorrectly indicates Shuffle mode is off.

6. Press the Shuffle button again and the player will then go to 'Shuffle albums' mode, which is another indication that the mode had been 'Shuffle tracks', although the icon is wrong.

Sometimes when you play something and watch the screen slide into Now Playing you can even see the icon being changed from green to gray.

Repeat works similarly.

Thanks JJ, this is On-Device correct? I.E. you didn't use the Web UI at all
Comment 4 Jim McAtee 2009-08-24 14:22:52 UTC
That's correct.

But now that you you mention it, the same thing happens if you use the web interface. As soon as you play something, the repeat and shuffle icons change to 'off' in the Fab4's NP screen. (They remains correct in the web interface.)
Comment 5 James Richardson 2009-08-24 14:29:08 UTC
Thanks for the instructions, I think this is an error in the Now Playing SS, I can see the icons changing to 'gray' when the SS kicks in.

Ben, your comment?

Tested against 7.5.0 r7887 and no longer see this issue.

Guessing it was something to do with the old way of delivering NP applet with
two screens (screensaver + "browse"). We deliver only one now and it looks to
be correct when re-entering for both shuffle and repeat.

Seeing this with firmware r8622 on Now Playing screen and Repeat button. I just leave my Touch playing with Repeat playlist and the default Now Playing screen. I see the "glow" of the Repeat button and can verify with Settings->Repeat that it's set to Repeat playlist.

When I look at this screen later, maybe 30 minutes later, the Repeat glow is gone. When I do a left to right swipe and then press the Now Playing shortcut, the Repeat button glow is back in the proper state.

Haven't tried it with shuffle yet.

Fixed Bug: 13607
Description: on track change NP window is now being recreated as a workaround for making sure windowListeners still work.
When replacing the window, make sure to update the repeat and shuffle buttons as needed for the new window.

This bug has been marked fixed in a released version of Squeezebox Server or the accompanying firmware or mysqueezebox.com release.

If you are still seeing this issue, please let us know!
