Description Mikael Nyberg 2009-08-21 21:00:08 UTC
I run across a situation where WOL did not work properly.

I'll *try* to decribe:

as switching between sn/sc now is done automagically with a mechanism unknown to me.

I was listening to a radio channel ( david byrne ) stopped powered down the server went to sleep. Unsure if I was on sn or sc ?

Fetch the controller in the Morning, it could only see my boom not the SB3 or SBR

Wanted some local music choses "My Music" It say's "bla bla to change library", indicating that it and the boom was on SN ?
It fails to do so ? other choiches like conecting to 192.168.1.5 (this is my server btw )appears and does not work, does not WOL.

WOL via booms power button does not work.
Conecting to 192.168.1.5 trough boom's setup menu does not WOL.

Power up my server and makes sure that i'm listening to local content and then i power it down and WOL is working again ?

Sorry for the totally unclear description, you probably have a hard time to reproduce it.

I just wanted to tell you that in this new integrated scheme with SN and SC it can be situations where WOL is confused.

Bug could be anywhere SN/SC or controller, filed it as an controller bug as trying to choose my local lib should initiate WOL.

QA to duplicate and provide logs

Current status wol truogh boom or sb3 is ok.

Still very unclear to me when or how the controller is supposed to wol.

One situation when it's not working anymore is when powering up the the controller with no server running.
chosing "my music " or choosing a player should provoke something,
or choosing "now playing" for a player that was on the server before shutdown.

Tom: How should/can SP devices wake the server with the Auto Fail over code?

This problem still persists. Since 7.4.0, and now 7.4.1 final I'm unable to WOL the server with SqueezeBox Server software, after the receiver has been pushed to mySqueezeBox.com and the server gone into standby.

This setup worked perfectly with 7.3.
